Welcome to your Panama Canal adventure!  We travel to the Des Moines airport for our flight to Ft. Lauderdale where we will board Princess Cruise Line's Caribbean Princess.   From this majestic ship see the engineering marvel that is the Panama Canal and experience the new locks, pristine islands and unforgettable ports.  Settle in and prepare for a cruise like no other!

While cruising the Caribbean today, take advantage of the ship's many activities. Enjoy a game of bridge, visit the health center for an exercise class or sauna, swim in the pool or enjoy relaxing

When Columbus made his landfall in the Caymans in 1503, he found tortoises and sea turtles in such profusion that he promptly named the islands Las Tortugas. But the name that stuck for the islands was the Carib word "Caimanas." Fitting, since the caiman is a New World crocodilian and the islands were long the lair of pirates, buccaneers, and assorted freebooters. Despite their past, the Caymans are a Caribbean demi-paradise of white-sand beaches, coral gardens, and offshore waters harboring spectacular shipwrecks. Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman also boast the highest standard of living in the entire Caribbean. This union of natural beauty and cosmopolitan style makes Grand Cayman a spectacular port of call for today's adventurers. Note: Grand Cayman is Passengers transfer to shore via ship's tender. In certain sea conditions, an alternate pier is used to transfer passengers ashore. This may cause tour durations to vary.

Caribbean Princess is the perfect escort for exploring the world while enjoying a relaxed, unhurried ambience onboard. Unwind poolside and watch a hit film with Movies Under the Stars (R), indulge in a soothing massage from an outdoor cabana at The Sanctuary, or savor a premium steak cooked to order in the Crown Grill.

One of the most interesting cities on your itinerary steeped in history. This was the transit port for all the wealth Spain derived from South America. The famous "Old City" is comprised of 12 square blocks filled with attractions, boutiques and restaurants. Throughout Colombia, the Spanish Empire's influence in the New World is self-evident. Its fortress walls, quaint narrow streets, and balconied houses are all vivid reminders of Spain's hold on Cartagena and throughout the Caribbean and South America.

Today is one of the highlights of the cruise as we pass through the new locks of the Panama Canal and do scenic cruising of Gatun Lake before re-entering the canal heading to the port of Cristobal. The narrow isthmus separating the Atlantic from the Pacific Ocean had a colorful and turbulent history long before Ferdinand de Lesseps first dreamed of building a transcontinental canal. Spanish conquistadors hauled Incan gold through the dense rainforest to ports on the Atlantic. And 49ers braved mosquitoes and yellow fever to get to the California gold fields. The Panama Canal remains one of the great American engineering feats of the 20th century! We stop at the port of Cristobal visitors to Panama will discover a whole range of scenic wonders.

Costa Rica's Limon Province boasts pristine beaches, sprawling banana plantations and dense rainforest.  These Caribbean lowlands are still sparsely populated--nearly a third of the province's population lives around Puerto Limon--and conservation efforts have led to growing eco-tourism. Limon Province offers other charms as well. Afro-Caribbean influences abound, from the lilting speech and reggae rhythms brought by Jamaican settlers to the colorful bungalows lining small fishing villages. Limon is a zesty little slice of heaven.

Each day, a world of exciting activities awaits, from cooking demonstrations to dance classes, trivia contests and a range of enrichment programs, including our Encounters with Discovery at SEA (TM) speaker series from experts who offer insights into the places you'll visit.

Ocho Rios (Spanish for "Eight Rivers") is located on the northern coast of Jamaica--67 miles east of Montego Bay. Blue-green mountains, white-sand beaches, lilting breezes wafting across floweradorned hillsides - Jamaica is a sensual feast. Stunning natural beauty and a unique society molded by British, African, Spanish and Asian influences make Jamaica an unforgettable port of call in the Caribbean. Ocho Rios is a superb slice of Jamaica. The area is named for its spectacular rivers and waterfalls, including famed Dunn's River Falls.

DAY  10: AT SEA

There's always something happening on board - from heading to the Princess Theater for a lavish original musical production to enjoying a blockbuster movie poolside under the stars or simply relaxing in a lounge sipping a cocktail where a live band is playing your song.

This morning marks the end of your unforgettable cruise.  Wave good-bye to friends made and transfer to the airport for the flight home.  Thank you for exploring with us and join us soon for another fun adventure!

Proudly Presents

"A New York City Holiday"

November 12-15, 2020

Welcome to New York City!  More. That's the guiding principal in New York City, a town with more first-rate entertainment, more highly respected museums and more excellent restaurants than anyplace in the world. More famous buildings and landmarks, more opportunities for shopping, more distinctive neighborhoods.  More people, more energy.  More than you can ever do on one vacation. Upon arrival, we will be met by a local professional tour guide before transferring to our centrally located Manhattan hotel.  Check in before freshening up for our first night in "The Big Apple". Tonight, join our travel partners for a delicious welcome dinner and a top Broadway Production.  (D)

This morning after breakfast, depart on a six hour guided tour of the city. Visit many landmarks made famous in books, movies and history.  Pass through the skyscraper canyons of Wall Street and marvel at the size.  Journey past the museums of Fifth Avenue and by the Plaza Hotel, Trump Tower, Empire State Building, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park. We then travel to the World Famous Katz's Deli (In the same location since 1888!) where we enjoy an included lunch. Continue touring and visit the 9/11 Memorial Site.  Return to the hotel mid-afternoon and have some time at leisure.  Go shopping at one of the famous department stores all decorated for the holidays. Visit one of the 30-plus museums. Or take a carriage ride through Central Park.  New York City offers everything imaginable so your options are endless!  This evening, is free to delight in a delectable dinner before exploring more of the city or attending another Broadway show if you like. (B,L)

Wake to another fantastic day in the "city that never sleeps".  Enjoy breakfast before traveling to Battery Park where we will board a ferry to historic Liberty National Park.  See the impressive Statue of Liberty.  Towering more than 300 feet above the bay, Lady Liberty continues to hold her vigil as she has since 1886.  Next stop is Ellis Island, the nation's point of entry for some 12 million people who immigrated to the U.S. between 1892 and 1954. View the American Immigrant Wall of Honor and various exhibitions chronicling the history of the island and its processing station.  We make a brief stop for lunch and shopping on our own. Return to the hotel for some free time to explore the city before getting ready for our last night "out on the town". Tonight, have a scrumptious farewell dinner with our newfound friends. Then take our reserved seats at the historic Radio City Music Hall. Delight in it's newly revised annual "Christmas Spectacular" with the high precision kicks of the world famous Rockettes.  (B,D)

After breakfast, spend our last morning in Manhattan at leisure.  Later transfer to the airport for our flight home, returning with many fascinating stories to share with friends and family from our visit to the electric "Big Apple"!  Thank you for exploring with us and join us soon for another amazing adventure!  (B)
